Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), adopting a student-centered approach, emphasizes excellence and innovation in education while also standing out with the transparency and accessibility of its administration. Education and Training Model
In addition to the 4-year undergraduate education provided in the fields of theology and religious studies at our Faculty, Pedagogical Formation Training, which allows our students to perform teaching duties in institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education after graduation, is also provided within the undergraduate period.
Our Faculty offers Arabic preparatory education, aiming for our students to succeed in departments where the language of science is Arabic. It is planned to contribute to the research they will conduct during and after their undergraduate education with the preparatory education. The courses in the preparatory classes are given by our teaching staff whose native language is Arabic and by our academicians who are experts in their fields.
An orientation program is organized for preparatory class students when they start at our Faculty. Within this scope, students are informed about the purpose of Arabic education, the other educational opportunities of our Faculty and University, and student exchange programs such as Erasmus, Mevlana, and Farabi. The presentation made by the teaching staff of the Department of Arabic Language and Rhetoric aims to introduce the department and our Faculty, and to provide information about the courses, thereby facilitating the adaptation of students to the preparatory class and our Faculty.
Career School
Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Career School is a skill-oriented program aimed at determining the fields in which students consider making a career, accompanied by psychometric measurements and career counseling, and developing their competencies in the knowledge, skills, and information technologies required by this career field. From the career planning stage to the job search process, professional career counselors assigned to the career coordination provide students with services in the fields of vocational counseling, career planning, and career psychological counseling. An approved official participation or achievement certificate is given for each completed training or event. Students who successfully complete all trainings and events are given a diploma approved by the MAKÜ Rectorate, documenting the entire development process. Applications and admissions to all training programs are carried out through our university's Career Development and Monitoring System (KARGİS).
Opportunity to Open Up to the World
Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University offers an international learning experience through Erasmus and Farabi Exchange Programs, which provide students with the opportunity to study at various universities both domestically and abroad. Within the scope of these programs, students have the opportunity to spend one or two semesters at leading universities in countries where English or Arabic is the native language.
