The primary aim of the undergraduate courses under the Department of Qur'anic Recitation and Reading is to ensure the correct reading of the Qur'an. In this direction;
-The correct pronunciation of Qur'anic letters and the accurate reading of Qur'anic words,
-Ensuring mastery of tajweed rules theoretically and conducting studies aimed at their application.
-In addition, the curriculum surahs accepted by the Presidency of Religious Affairs are memorized.
The Phonetics of the Arabic Language in the preparatory class curriculum and the Qur'an Reading and Tajweed courses in the undergraduate curriculum are under the responsibility of this department.
In the postgraduate education carried out within the department, the aim is to equip students who are practically proficient in the recitation of the Qur'an (hafiz) with knowledge in the science of recitation, contributing to filling the gap in academia and society in this regard. At the postgraduate level, there are courses such as Qur'anic Recitation and History, Basic Sources of the Science of Recitation, and The Effect of Recitation Differences on Meaning.
