Hadith Department, is a branch of science that examines the actions, words, and reactions exhibited by the Prophet Muhammad during the process of conveying the religion of Islam. This field approaches hadiths with a scientific and critical perspective, aiming to deeply understand the Sunnah of the Prophet and his prophetic experience.
The science of hadith is of great importance because it is a practice that explains and implements the Qur'an, which is the primary source of the Islamic religion. Hadiths, considered the second source after the Qur'an, are indispensable for correctly understanding and presenting the religion to humanity. To evaluate this important science correctly and appropriately, it is necessary to be well-versed in the processes of memorizing, preserving, writing, and compiling hadiths. Our Department adopts an educational approach that encompasses the ways hadiths have reached us, the conditions of narrators and narrations, the intended meanings in hadiths, and the resulting literature from these studies. To achieve the mentioned goals in the field of science, our faculty offers courses in the undergraduate programs such as Hadith History, Hadith Methodology, as well as Hadith I, Hadith II, Hadith III, and Hadith IV, where significant passages from fundamental hadith works are read, aiming to raise students' awareness of hadith texts, along with elective courses.
Adhering to scientific methods and considering the readiness of students, our Department provides education at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels and aims to train competent individuals in this field.
